David Jacobs
David has over 25 years of public accounting experience, the majority of which has been spent serving small local businesses and individual clients. As a tax specialist, David consults with businesses on wide-ranging issues such as entity selection, business acquisitions, exit strategies, structuring tax-efficient sales and exchanges and transfers of wealth between generations. His business experience includes serving high-tech, retail, agricultural, non profit and professional service firms. He also specializes in personal tax issues of real estate, wealth accumulation, retirement planning, trusts and estates. David takes a personal and entrepreneurial approach to problem solving and is a strong advocate for local small businesses.
David is licensed as a CPA in California and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants.
He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Southern California with an emphasis in accounting.

Grant Dow
Grant has over 18 years of experience in accounting and finance. This includes over 8 years of experience in public accounting and an additional 10 years of accounting/finance experience in both private and publicly traded companies, primarily within the high-tech industry. As a public accountant, the majority of his experience has been in serving local for-profit and non-profit businesses in their financial statement and pension plan audit needs. The for-profit businesses he has served include many within the industries of high-tech, manufacturing, and agriculture. His public accounting experience also includes assisting businesses and individuals with their various tax related issues and consulting with them on other financial matters; areas of practice which he enjoys most and has focused on specializing in.
Grant is licensed as a CPA in California and is a member of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Grant graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from UC Santa Cruz, and with a Certificate of Advanced Accounting Proficiency from Santa Clara University. He is currently a graduate student in the Lucas Graduate School of Business at San Jose State University and expects to obtain his Master of Science in Taxation degree in 2013.

Hannah Brandt
Hannah has over 9 years of professional experience in a variety of roles with local businesses. Her experience is heavily weighted with bookkeeping, but also includes roles in sales and purchasing. In 2010 she made the commitment to further her accounting career, and passed all four sections of the CPA exam in 2011.
Hannah is licensed as a CPA in California and is a member of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants.
She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from UC Santa Cruz, and with a Certificate of Advanced Accounting Proficiency from Santa Clara University.

Steve Ponciroli
Steve has over 25 years of professional experience including public accounting, private industry and publicly-traded companies. He has served in a variety of capacities, including controller, corporate officer, management consultant, partner and as a CPA. Steve’s wide-ranging experience and insight are invaluable to both clients and co-workers.
Steve is licensed as a CPA in California and is a member of the California Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Steve graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from San Jose State University. He also holds an MBA from Golden Gate University.

Elaina Shanks
Elaina is a Santa Cruz native with over 25 years of practical bookkeeping experience. Elaina is the firm’s office manager providing our clients with efficient and thorough bookkeeping, payroll and sales tax services.
