Our Company

The professionals at Chiorini, Hunt & Jacobs continue a long-standing tradition of providing quality services to businesses, private clients and not-for-profit organizations.  We enjoy a solid reputation in the community for excellence, professionalism and personable service.  Without question, our focus is to support our clients’ endeavors with the utmost attention.

The following mission statement guides our day-to-day operations as well as our long-term vision.

We provide our community with the tools and expertise to achieve financial success.
We create an environment of mutual trust and respect, with an unwavering commitment to integrity and professional excellence.

In 1938, Jack Chiorini founded our public accounting practice.  Jack was a dynamic local personality who conducted his life with absolute integrity serving twice as mayor of the city of Santa Cruz and a founding board member of Dominican Hospital.  He founded this public accounting practice to further promote the people and businesses in his midst.

In 1971 and 1986, Don Hunt and David Jacobs joined the firm, respectively.  Each in his own way helped the firm grow along with the community and responded to the ever-changing needs of its clientele. Services offered included accounting and financial statement preparation, audits of small businesses and governmental units, tax preparation and planning.

In the 1980s and 1990s, our client base shifted from a retail and manufacturing orientation to a mixture of specialty retail, light manufacturing, technology and professional services. Over the same period, the Santa Cruz area grew significantly more affluent while the emergence of the personal computer dramatically changed the day-to-day operations of small business.

Our practice continues to evolve to meet the ever-changing needs of our clients all the while remaining true to our mission statement and values.
